File Your Insurance Claim Confidently

Filing a claim after experiencing storm damage can feel overwhelming but not when you have an advocate like our Experts assisting you! After a storm strikes your home, let our trusted, licensed contractors perform an honest damage assessment.

We’ll help you decide if the damage your home has incurred is significant enough to file an insurance claim and provide you with an inspection report complete with photo documentation of our findings. Our inspections cover your whole home, including roofing, siding, gutters, windows, porches, decks, and more.

Once you report your claim to your insurer, they will likely send an adjuster to your home to inspect the damage, too. Let us know their appointment information, so our contractors can be present and available for questions.

Unlike storm chasers and scam artists, our team will never pressure you into repairs you don’t need or use aggressive sales tactics to force you into a contract. Instead, our Experts strive to make you feel comfortable with the process from start to finish.

Quick Guide to Reporting a Claim

Talking directly with our straightforward Experts will give you peace of mind while you report a claim to your insurance provider.

And with these steps, you’ll have the necessary knowledge to make an effective claim.

Contact a Trusted Contractor Quickly

Ask for referrals from your insurance agent, family, friends, or neighbors or call our Experts as soon as a storm has struck and you suspect damage to your property. When a storm affects multiple homes in your area, claims will rack up fast and bog down the process, so it’s in your best interest to report your claim ASAP.

Our team will help you determine if the damage is significant enough to file an insurance claim and will create a transparent inspection with our findings. Always feel free to ask questions with our contractors. Our aim is to ensure you understand what the damage is and what your options are.

Review Your Homeowner’s Policy

This overlooked step is crucial, so read over your homeowners' insurance declarations page to see what types of damage are covered and your coverage limits. Key distinctions within a policy could translate to thousands of dollars.

Some policies will cover damaged areas' replacement costs, while others only provide actual cash value. Replacement cost value (RCV) is the amount it costs to replace your property with new property without deducting for depreciation. This means in the event of a loss, your insurance will pay you enough to replace your damaged property with new replacements.

Actual cash value (ACV) coverage pays you what your property is worth today. ACV is calculated by taking what it would cost to buy your property new today and subtracting depreciation for factors such as age, condition, and obsolescence.

You’ll also want to check your deductible. A deductible is the amount of a claim your insurer expects you to pay. If a storm does $10,000 worth of damage to your home and you have a $1,000 deductible, the insurer will pay $9,000, and you’ll cover the rest.

If anything is unclear, contact your insurer or agent to make sure you fully understand what your policy covers.

Report Your Claim

After your inspection with our team, contact your insurance agent or company to notify them of the damage. Depending on how widespread the weather event was, there can be a massive number of claims. It's important to file your claim early on.

Your insurer will typically send an adjuster to your home to inspect the damage. Provide the appointment information to your contractor because it can be helpful for them to be present.

Receive Your Claim Paperwork

Also called an “Estimate of Repairs,” this paperwork will detail the insurance adjusters’ findings and estimate for said repairs. As previously defined, you will receive their first check for repairs, known as the ACV. This check may be used as a deposit to your contractor for repairs.

Homeowners with a mortgage on their property will often be required to have their mortgage company endorse insurance checks. Each mortgage company has its own process and policies for insurance claims and checks. Please defer to your mortgage company for instructions.

Work With Your Contractor to Complete Work

Provide the claim paperwork to your contractor for review, and our Experts can assist in explaining what is being covered. Our team will also discuss your project's scope and desired materials.

Our team will schedule the work to be performed and notify your insurance when the work is completed.

If a homeowner has an RCV policy, as previously defined, your insurance will issue a final check of withheld depreciation. This payment will allow you to pay your contractor for repairs in full, except for your deductible.
